KUCHING: Ninety-three participants from the Institue of
Teacher Education Tun Abdul Razak Campus (IPGKTAR) and schools attended the National
Badminton (BAM) Umpire Level I and II Course (21 – 22 July 2012) which was held
in Asajaya Hall, IPGKTAR. The course was organised by the Institute of Teacher
Education Tun Abdul Razak Campus, Kota Samarahan.
According to the Institute of Teacher Education Tun Abdul Razak Campus director, Pn. Hamsiah binti Abdullah Masni, the course offers an opportunity for badminton enthusiasts from the Instiute of Teacher Education and schools to become involved in a variety of officating roles especially the schools who are short of qualified umpires. She also conveyed her appreciation to the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM), the SBA and the Education Department of Sarawak for their support and approval for the course to be successfully carried out.
Mr Joseph Sidemy Nyogia, the course coordinator stated that the course was aimed at introducing the participants the rules of badminton, code of conduct, chair and line umpiring. The course had received overwhelming responses. The two-day course was conducted by Mr Wennedy Danny, a BAC Accredited Umpire from BAM and assisted by Mr Sebini bin Sulaiman.The examination for the Level I and II will be held on the 28th July 2012.
